Pin and Signal Definitions for USB TYPE-C
Sep 03, 2026
1. Power pins
Four groups of power supply (4 positive + 4 negative), each group with a maximum current of 1.25A, and the theoretical total current is 5A.
High power output can be achieved through the combination of multiple pins.
2. High-speed differential signal pins
Four groups of high-speed signal pairs (TX1+/TX1-, TX2+/TX2-, RX1+/RX1-, RX2+/RX2-), supporting high-speed protocols such as USB 4.0.
3. CC pins (configuration channels)
Two CC signals (CC1/CC2), used for device connection detection, insertion direction identification, and working mode negotiation.
They are the key signal channels of the USB PD fast charging protocol.
4. Auxiliary signal pins (SBU1/SBU2)
Provide special application data transmission channels, such as analog audio or backup functions.
5. USB2.0 pins (D+/D-)
2 groups of pins, compatible with traditional USB2.0 devices.
