What are the differences between MiniDP and HDMI?

1. DisplayPort defines two types of connectors: full size and mini.
2. Both connector types have 20 pins. However, the width of the mini connector is approximately half that of the full size one. Their dimensions are 7.5mm x 4.5mm and 16mm x 4.8mm respectively.
3. To establish a complete link, five coaxial pairs, three single-ended signal connectors, as well as power and ground wires are required.

HDMI is the abbreviation of (High Definition Multimedia Interface), meaning High Definition Multimedia Interface. It is a digital video/audio interface technology specifically designed for image transmission. It is a dedicated digital interface that can simultaneously transmit audio and video signals, with the maximum data transmission speed being 48 Gbps (version 2.1).
At the same time, there is no need for digital/analog or analog/digital conversion before signal transmission. HDMI can be combined with Broadband Digital Content Protection (HDCP) to prevent copyrighted audio and video content from being unauthorizedly copied.
The additional space provided by HDMI can be applied in future upgraded audio and video formats.
Since a 1080p video and an 8-channel audio signal require less than 0.5 GB/s, HDMI still has a lot of room for expansion. This allows it to be connected separately to a DVD player, receiver, and PRR with one cable.
