What is the difference between Type-C and USB-C?

Characteristics of USB-C interface:

1. Ultra-thin

The old-fashioned USB port is 14mm * 6.5mm in size, while the USB-C is only 8.4mm * 2.6mm.

2. No distinction between front and back

Just like the Lightning interface, there will be no problem regardless of whether it is inserted front or back. It is claimed to be able to withstand 10,000 repeated insertions and extractions.

3. Fast transmission speed

The maximum transmission rate of the USB-C port is 10Gb per second, which is much faster than USB 3.0.

4. Bidirectional Transmission

Unlike the old USB ports where power transmission is unidirectional, the power transmission of the USB-C type port is bidirectional. This means it can have two ways of sending power.

5. Strong Power Supply Capacity

The standard specification cable with the Type-C connector can handle a current of 3A. It also supports "USB PD" which exceeds the current USB power supply capacity, and can provide a maximum power of 100W.
