Is there a problem with the VGA cable when the monitor is black-screened?

A black screen on the monitor could be caused by problems with the VGA cable, but it could also be due to various other reasons.

1. VGA cable causing a black screen
1. Line damage: The VGA cable may have internal circuit breakage or short circuit due to long-term use, external force pulling, bending, etc. For example, if the surface of the cable is visibly damaged and the internal metal wires can be seen to be broken, this could cause the signal to fail to be transmitted normally, resulting in a black screen on the monitor.
2. Loose interface: If the interfaces at both ends of the VGA cable are not firmly connected to the computer graphics card and the monitor, there will be poor contact. Such as if there is dust or oxidation at the interface, or if the plug is not fully inserted, it may cause the signal transmission to be interrupted, leading to a black screen.
3. Signal interference: If the VGA cable is close to strong electromagnetic sources, such as large power appliances, transformers, etc., it may be subject to electromagnetic interference, causing the signal to be disordered, and thus resulting in a black screen on the monitor.
2. Other reasons that may cause a black screen on the monitor
1. Graphics card failure: Problems such as overheating or damage to the graphics card may affect its normal operation and prevent it from outputting the correct signal to the monitor, resulting in a black screen. For example, if the graphics card fan fails or the cooling is poor, causing the graphics card to overheat and freeze.
2. Problems with the monitor itself: Damage to internal components of the monitor, such as a faulty power board or screen driver board, can also cause a black screen.
3. Computer host failure: Hardware failures in the computer host, such as loose memory or overheating of the CPU, can prevent the host from operating normally and not providing the working conditions for the graphics card, causing the monitor to black out.
If the monitor is black, you can check the connection of the VGA cable and try replacing the VGA cable to initially determine if it is a VGA cable problem. If the problem persists, further troubleshooting of other possible causes is required.
